THE SISTERHOOD

by

Ronda M. Harris

The Sisterhood is not a club or sorority, or a female society, but it is the emcompassing essence of love, strength, courage and wisdom.  These elements cannot be formed, they must be born.  Birthed through the most peril situations, dipped in agony and hung by regrets.  This is how The Sisterhood is born.

The birthing process is one of vigor-it means to stand while others are falling-it means to give when there is nothing else to give, and it means to love even when hate kisses you everyday-it means understanding the confusion, hugging the pain and being an umbrella when it rains, wiping away the tears and calming the fears-this is the Sisterhood.

This Sisterhood was birthed with all the ingredients for it to flourish and grow into a healthy, vibrant force that you will come to cherish and know, a force that is to be reckoned with.  Full of confidence, boldness and pride the Sisterhood thrives.  Pressing past shame and guilt, disappointments and regrets into an elaborate, colorful portrait of heart felt love.  Love that determines the depth of affection, the level of grace given and the fortified blessing that comes with forgiving.

This my friend is the Sisterhood

Beautifying imperfections, strengthening weaknesses and crowning strengths are all a part of the process. Holding hands as you walk that extra mile-all the while pressing past the forced smiles.  Protecting your future by letting go of the past and laying a solidified foundation in the present that will last.

Celebrating victories won and accomplishments achieved-all to bring you closer to that long awaited dream.  The dream that depicts your Sisterhood’s relentless love icened with compassion and drunk with success to be enviously displayed with not one regret.

God gives this precious gift to only a chosen few-He gave it to me, to her and He gave it to you too,

The Sisterhood

BLACK WOMAN

by

Ronda M. Harris

My mocha skin radiantly shines like a spotlight in the sun I’m a black and beautiful woman with purpose and destiny now this is fun

My legs are sandy sculptured pillars with roots reaching as far as the tip of my sturdy brick feet

my neck towers like a well put together skyscraper that pedestals my teddy bear brown eyes rudolph nose and pearly whites with ears to hear more than just what you say

I’m a black woman yes this is true indeed I have lips hips and fingertips as the deed toped with attitude and soul to help me reach any one of my goals

All you can see is the external beautified portrait of me

BUT

The real me is a spirit that owns no color but is full of color has wings to fly and is more free than the wind that cools my mocha skin I’m rapped in

I’m a black woman yes yes and blessed to be for there are some that desire to be like me

I was created by God with a body mind soul spirit and intellect and its His glory my life must reflect

Black is beauitful God created me this way I had no choice now that’s a fact so don’t look at me and hate me just because I’m black
